From May to the end of July, the Farne Islands are alive with activity as Puffins and other seabirds gather in large numbers. This is a spectacular time to visit if you want to see the islands at their busiest.

From late October through to January, the Grey Seals take centre stage. This is when the pupping season begins and hundreds of baby seals can be seen across the rocks and beaches. With an estimated three to four thousand Grey Seals in the colony, there are always large numbers to spot, especially during low tide when more of the islands are visible. Each autumn brings over a thousand new pups, making this one of the best places in the UK to witness seal life up close.
