Embark On Puffin Spotting Tours

Embark on a fascinating journey to witness the enchanting world of puffins and other captivating wildlife!

Are you ready for a thrilling and unforgettable adventure? Puffin spotting tours offer you a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with these charming birds and a variety of other fascinating wildlife. Join us as we sail around the Farne Islands and immerse ourselves in the vibrant world of puffins, seals, and more!

The Best Time for Puffin Spotting

Our puffin spotting tours kick off in April when these adorable birds start returning to the Farne Islands, and the excitement continues throughout their nesting season, which spans from May until the end of July. The end of March marks the beginning of the puffin migration, and you can observe varying numbers of these captivating creatures until they settle down for nesting in mid-April. Hurry, though, as they start leaving the islands by the end of July or early August!

A Prolific Birdwatching Experience

During this two-hour cruise, we sail around the Farne Islands without stopping, allowing you ample opportunities to witness an array of nesting birds throughout the breeding season, from May to the end of July. Get ready to spot Puffins, Guillemots, Shags, Cormorants, Kittiwakes, Arctic Terns, Razorbills and Eider Ducks!

Discover the Grey Seal Colony

In addition to the birdlife, our tour also takes you to the Grey Seal Colony, where you can spot 3,000-4,000 Grey Seals lounging on the rocks. The number of seals increases significantly during low tide when more islands are exposed. With over a thousand seal pups born each Autumn/Winter, the colony is thriving and growing stronger.

Book Your Adventure Online

To ensure your spot on this fantastic tour, we highly recommend booking online. Our child prices are applicable for ages 5-15, while those under five are considered infants. Plus, your furry friends are welcome to join, as dogs are permitted on the tour!
